Because, you know, people love you, but from a distance, in photos, or just once in a while. But that “once in a while”… definitely not for too long and not too often.
I can see it clearly in your eyes, and your tears express it very well and make me feel your deep sorrow.
Why do your brothers get to sleep over somewhere else? Why aren't you invited when there are fun activities planned? Why can't you go out without Mom to visit your cousins? Why doesn't anyone want to babysit you?
Well, my little sweethearts, you make too much of a fuss, you talk too much, you’re always on the move—you’re two beautiful, inseparable 4-year-old twins who are way too hyperactive for most people. When we ask for someone to watch you, it’s kind of like asking for a kidney!!!!
I'm going to let you in on a secret, my sweethearts: Mom thinks it's sad, too. It breaks Mom's little heart, too, when everyone comes up with all sorts of roundabout excuses to say no to you when you're begging to spend time with the people you love!
Because time and time again, I’ve seen your brothers come home from a sleepover at an aunt’s house, their eyes sparkling with excitement from doing all sorts of things they wouldn’t usually do at home. My little sweethearts, even though I’m sometimes exhausted—because you really drain my energy—I promise to do something special every once in a while to try to make up for those little sad moments! So the next night your brothers leave, I’ll whip up some popcorn, find a little tent, and we’ll spend the evening camping together in the living room. All accompanied by lots of love and a good movie!
I love you Thunder and Destroy!
