Lots and lots of sugar

“Celebrate the return of sunny days and the arrival of spring.”

“It’s the Easter Bunny who places the chocolate eggs in the little nests prepared by the children; he brings them chocolates, marshmallows, and candy.”

“Jesus Christ is said to have been captured, condemned, and crucified during the Passover celebrations.”

During my teenage years, I explored the Christian faith. So, back then, Easter was about the Resurrection of Jesus—that was the tradition. However, since it was just an experiment, that’s not what I’m going to teach my children. You know what? There won’t be a Easter Bunny bringing chocolates either.

I’m not someone who promotes mythical characters, but rather fun, memories, and togetherness. I’m more in favor of a nice family dinner and plenty of chocolate than of keeping various well-known myths alive. Easter is a holiday rich in traditions; all the customs we continue to practice each year stem from different beliefs, some older, some newer. Celebrations vary by region—meals, games, and so on. So we’re going to have our own.

I’m going to teach my kids that family is important; we’ll have family dinners for the occasion. Fun is guaranteed—a great Easter egg hunt and Easter stockings, yes, just like at Christmas, but filled with candy. Laughter will carry for miles, and the energy will be intense thanks to that huge dose of sugar. Ah, Easter—I love chocolate, and for now, so do my kids.

So, no matter how you celebrate this day, no matter your religious beliefs, enjoy this day to the fullest with your family and children—but above all, have lots and lots of sugar, fun, and wonderful memories for the future.

Happy Easter!
