I met you, and we fell in love. Now it’s time to part ways. Unfortunately, our story as a couple ends here. I wish we could have stayed together forever, but our life paths have led us in different directions. That’s why, today, I’m asking you to leave.
We have wonderful children, and we’ve shared amazing trips and experiences. I loved you more than I could ever have loved anyone else. Now it’s time to part ways, to leave the family home we built together.
This decision was made for our own good and that of our children. Could we handle this as smoothly as possible—without bickering, without yelling, without making life difficult for each other? We made a joint decision regarding the children; could we do the same regarding our possessions and our home?
At the beginning of our separation, we didn’t want to upset the children. We made arrangements regarding the house, but that arrangement has run its course. It’s been over a year, and it’s clear that “us” isn’t coming back. It’s time to move on to the next chapter. We’ve each gone our separate ways—don’t you think it’s time for you to move out of the house?
Together, we decided to keep the house for the children. I let you stay close to them for so long, but life has changed. Please, so that our children can have two happy parents, stop putting it off, making excuses, and refusing. Now is the time to leave.
I’ll never stop loving you because you’ll always be in my life—you’re the father of my children, and we’ll always be connected.
Today, I’m asking you to let me live my life. Now is the time to move on.
