I live for my children

I don’t want anything to do with going out to bars every Friday night or hanging out with my girlfriends every day—I live for my kids.

I decided to have kids, and it’s not so I can have someone watch them every other minute for no reason. Time flies by too fast. Kids grow up too fast—I don’t want to miss out on all those magical moments.

When people ask me when I’m going to stop breastfeeding so I can go out—even though my baby is only 7 months old—the answer is a resounding no!

When people ask me to pump so I can drink alcohol… that’s a no, too! (Anyway, non-alcoholic beer has become my go-to.)
As for all the pressure I get from others who are too eager to see me stop breastfeeding and put my baby in daycare, I just want to tell you that it makes me want to keep breastfeeding even more! It’s such a beautiful moment when your baby looks you straight in the eyes in the middle of the night, and it’s just you and him in that exact moment.

No, I don’t feel like going out without my three kids. I love being a mom. I love being with them all the time, even if it’s not always relaxing since Dad works nights. When they’re away, I miss them and worry.

If you want to stay in my life, know that my children and my partner are my whole life. Yes, maybe once in a while I’ll go out without them, but if you really want to go out with me, suggest a family outing—I’ll be thrilled to say yes!

Because no, I don’t feel like getting drunk to have fun; I’d much rather do some DIY projects or go to the park with my kids.

I don’t feel like going to Valcartier with just adults; I’d gladly go with my family.

I don’t feel like going to the movies; I’d rather watch a good family movie at home.

I don’t feel like going to a hotel to relax—a forest trail with the kids and a picnic will do just fine. I can show them animal tracks, different kinds of birds, trees, and photography.

Every parent is different—I don’t judge how you do things. That’s just how I am, and seeing others try to change me really gets on my nerves! Live and let live!!

I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I’m proud of it. My reward is their smiles, their hugs, and their endless kisses.
