That choice you make just once!

Being in a relationship is one thing, and being parents is quite another. Love unites us as human beings, creating bonds, shared routines, passion, and desire.

Sometimes, that love leads to the arrival of a child—whether planned or not. It gives us a sense of fulfillment, of moving forward in our relationship—in short, of taking that final step. A kind of union for life, where this future baby will belong to both of us forever, no matter what happens to our relationship.

The baby’s arrival will turn everything upside down—for better or for worse. It will be our anchor to the future. The lack of time for ourselves, for us as a couple. Sleep that will never be the same again. Priorities that will have shifted dramatically. So many moments of joy, tinged with a touch of fleeting melancholy.

The scent of baby powder or sour milk will hang in the air—not to please us, but to test our limits. Who knows what all this will bring to a couple? Should we take this risk? To grow as individuals, or to guide a little one down the right path?

And then there are the judgments—especially from those who don’t have children. For some, it’s simply not possible to just be a couple. Yet being at peace with that choice is perfectly fine. If you have children, the number of them will be the subject of gossip. Their academic performance, of course, will depend on their upbringing at home. So what do we gain from all this? Well, this personal choice shapes the society of tomorrow. So here’s some advice: go buy some earplugs or ear muffs right away so you don’t have to hear any of it—because, after all, you’re the one who’ll have to live with this choice.

This choice is certainly yours, but know that no matter what you choose, do it for yourself—be happy. Because if you’re happy, your partner and your baby will be too; in short, your heart will be at peace and content. One thing at a time—you owe nothing to anyone. Your life belongs to you. The future doesn’t have to be bleak.
