A new year! We all have plenty of wishes, but I sincerely hope that the very best comes your way—to each and every one of you. You know, as Marie-Ève said, resolutions can be just for a month, too… And if all these wishes come true—even if only for a month—that’ll be a big step in the right direction ☺
I wish you good health. Good health is really an underestimated wish—we say it so often that it almost loses its meaning. But it’s so true! A trip to the ER here, some antibiotics there, a sleepless night here, and an X-ray there—it’s exhausting for the body and pretty tough on the heart. We can compromise and accept a cold or two, or even ONE bout of the stomach flu, but no more than that. From the bottom of my heart, I hope your family stays healthy this year.
I hope you have everything you need. No money, no food, no peace of mind, and no resilience. If you ever find yourself lacking any of these things, I hope with all my heart that you’ll have the courage to ask for help.
I hope you can calm down. For absolutely everything. There's no point in getting upset—ever. Is your house not as perfect as you'd like it to be? Who cares. Are your kids not perfect? That's normal. They're probably still the best kids in the world anyway.
I hope you have a ton of patience. You're definitely going to need it.
I hope you laugh. EVERY DAY. Especially with your kids. We all know how hilarious they can be sometimes. And laugh with adults, too. Or even by yourself (that’s often when laughter feels the best). A good, hearty laugh every day is sure to keep stress at bay forever!
I hope you find happiness in the little things, it's so easy. A bath, a good meal, a trip outdoors, a movie, a little kiss, a coffee, some chips, a new piece of clothing, some gummy bears, a nice-smelling candle, a soft stuffed animal… part of happiness is right beside you right now.
I hope you realize just how lucky you are, for thousands of things. It'll help you through the toughest times. Remember that many women don't have what you have, so make the most of it.
Happy New Year, Mom!
