What would become of life if mothers no…

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been gone for as little as the time it takes to have a meal at a restaurant with a friend or a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up that one essential ingredient for your dinner…. You can be sure that the minute your little toe crosses the threshold, little voices will cry out “Moooooom” over and over again until you answer their calls.

Those calls that sometimes make you wonder, “Why did I come back so soon?” Those calls that make you wonder, “How did they even manage to survive without me?” Those calls that leave you feeling completely drained and tired of always being there, of always having to be there, no matter what…

You’ll understand, of course, that it’s not that I don’t love my kids… far from it! My kids are the most precious things in the world to me, and I’d give my life for them. However, there are times when I’d like to be selfish, to think only of myself, to have just my own little self to worry about. Because yes, I’m tired at times; because yes, I’d like to run away to a deserted island all by myself; because yes, I might also want to curl up in a little ball and just cry it out, to feel better and let it all out!

But I can’t do that, because I’m a mom, because I’ve too often put the happiness and well-being of others before my own. Being a mom is the most beautiful thing there is, an experience I’ll never regret for the rest of my life—but it’s tough with TA!!!!
